Messages of Love--Part III

Dear Friends. On that fateful day we were fully paralized to do anything we were shocked , we couldn't believe it was the reality . We called at once to our Russian Artist - Anna Avanesova who was in NY to ask her what had happened . The line to the USA was dead , we did understand it was true . We tried again and again . Finally we managed to get in touch with Anna , it was early morning in the US and she was asleep . We asked her what had happened in the US ? She didn't know . She switched on TV and the comments were the following: the buildings were crashing , everything was on fire .

As for me , I was deeply touched by the news and I can't even express the feelings which overwhelmed me , it was like ruins in my soul , emptiness , deep sadness , being helpless before stopping and being able to stop and control such things . It was so terrible . My soul was crying. I have got lots of friends in the US and I began writing to them if they were all right . I was so much afraid of the loss of my dear people . We are people of one nation , of one earth and we are united for the period of time of our lives which can be to short at times. So sad and painful .

We have experienced a great shock at getting to know what grief swept the USA. This news touched everyone in Russia . The Owner of the Wachtanoff Gallery, Irina Myzina and all her staff express our regrets , bitterness and take this sorrowful event close to heart . We would love to believe that nobody of you experienced this event personally , although we understand the very fact that this tragedy touched everyone in the USA. We hope and believe you will find much strength to overcome this tragedy . We express support to the whole American people.

Irina Myzina and the staff of the Wachtanoff Gallery. Moscow. Russia

Dear US Doll Artists and Doll Lovers,

It was around 3 o'clock PM in my country when the first attack took place. We were informed immediately both by CNN and the national and local TV. It seemed unbelievable.  You should know that you are not on your own. Europe is in shock as well and our thoughts are with you and your fellow Americans.

Love from Holland.

Marlaine Verhelst. Holland

It was with horror that I watched the crisis unfold on National television on Tuesday. It is
with sadness that I contemplated the horrific loss of human life and American life as we have known it. I pray that America will soon find peace and we artists can once again concentrate on adding beauty to this world.

The declaration you compiled is very well put together and we honestly believe that it does a very good job describing the feelings of people all over the world. We would like to add that we are simply horrified by those terrible events. We have spent several years living in Israel where terrorist attacks are almost an everyday event, but we could never imagine something so devastating. We believe that the terrorism has to be stopped and that the U.S. and other countries have to take Israel's example in fighting it - annihilate all the leaders and the top personnel of the terrorist groups without making any distinctions. We do realize that it is easier said than done, but in our view this is the only way to stop those animals from taking more lives.
Our deepest condolences to everyone who suffered from those events,

The Russian Sisters.

" I watched with horror and disbelief as events recently unfolded  - the sheer enormity of what has happened is almost incomprehensible. I have no doubt that the democratic world will rise from this outrage with an unshakeable resolve to rid the us of this
evil. It has gone too far. This can't be ignored. The world supports
you. Remember - Dolls heal!

‘I cannot tell you how much it helps to hear from our friends around the world that they are behind us. It was like a soothing balm being applied to our wounds to hear that our national anthem was played this morning in London at the changing of the guard. I cried because I could feel the love exhibited from that gesture. After a day of overwhelming hate, it is an oasis to hear these things. On behalf of all Cherokee Nation artisans, I would like to extend to all of those effected by this travesty, our deepest love and prayers for your recovery. May the spirits of all those capable of love connect for your healing. In 1890, Captain John G. Burnett of the U.S. Army, an interpreter for the Cherokees said, " Murder is murder and somebody must answer. Let the great Judge of all the Earth weigh our actions and reward us according to our work."
May the Great Chief who never sleeps watch over you with a mighty hand.’

‘I am certain that most of us, in the shock and horror of these current events have come to question our own mortality and know first hand how swiftly and surprisingly an act of mass destruction can occur. It leaves us saturated in a sea of emotions too painful to describe...a state of mind which causes us to question and suspect even a familiar face. If I could add verse to our Pledge of Allegiance, it would most certainly include a "Pledge of Tolerance". A pledge which begins in childhood, to be tolerant of our schoolmates regardless of their color, gender identification, religion, size or economic status. A pledge to possess the bravery and determination to know the world as a whole. A pledge to contemplate with creative solution the suffering of all humankind so that one day compassion and intelligent thought might be the great equalizer instead of terror and destruction. I am eternally grateful that the lives of my mother and sister were spared in this disaster and my heart will beat on for those who lost their lives. I will carry for them a "Pledge of Tolerance" as a shrine and invite all who read this to do the same. Perhaps in united effort, we may never ever see in our lifetime anything like this horrific act of revenge.

I have never felt greater love than now for all the suffering people in this terrible crime against mankind! I feel helplessly far away in a time that many of my friends need to be held. I wish them all the strength they need to find a new way of living after this blackest day in the worlds history. More than ever I feel one with them!’

Marleen Engeler. Holland

I agree with your heartfelt sentiments. My heart is heavy with the enormity of the loss. As each story surfaces and we begin to put faces on the tragedy, we are staggered by what we've lost.

In Tolkien's ‘The Fellowship of the Rings’ all of Middle Earth is threatened by evil, and only on Frodo's quest hangs any hope. The elf Haldir says:

"The world is indeed full of peril, and in it there are many dark places; but still there is much that is fair, and though in all lands love is now mingled with grief, it grows perhaps the greater."

"For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, but my loving kindness will not be removed from you and my covenant of peace will not be shaken," says the Lord who has compassion on you. - Is 54:10

Let's pray that through this, love grows the greater.

Blessings.

’What is important is that everyone and every country recognize, that this terrorism is not against America it is an action that goes against EVERY FREE country. It is an act against humanity which of course has been so often said. Your passion is wonderful. Thank you for all your support.

Through tears that never stop, I keep searching for something positive to come from this absolutely despicable act, in which so many innocent people were forced to face a terrible death. Then I received the letter of solidarity. We are not alone in this horror.  Thank you.

‘Two years ago terrorists blew some houses in Moscow and many hundreds of people perished there including many children. So we know very well what it is and hate such actions. I actually hate any violence and those mad fanatics!

’Isn't it time that we as humans being refrain from defending our ideas and beliefs, doctrines and self righteousness? We can, and must, let our hearts lead, feel our oneness and honor ALL life and the Earth who holds us. We are NOT, in the deepest sense, Muslims, Jews, Americans, Europeans, Christians, Hindus, etc. We are simply members of the Family of Life. Somehow we must live this life and build a peaceful world of unity with diversity. Our love goes out to all who have suffered directly in this tragedy, and to all who have suffered past tragedies caused by the same mindset everywhere. May this be a new beginning and an end to more of the same. Peace.

Lewis Goldstein. USA

I stay here in Germany, have many friends in USA and don't know how to help. I just started sculpting tiny joy and health bringing Faeries to sell them separately for a low price and send the money to the Red Cross in America. What can I do else at the moment than pray , send good thoughts and collect money .

America you are not alone! Dear artists, brothers and sisters let us stay together and let us help however we can. We are one mind.

In Hope and Love

‘Our hearts go out to the victims of these recent events in NYC, Washington and Pa. So many stories of heroism have warmed our hearts and helped ease the pain of 'mans inhumanity to man'. To the families of the victims we can only say how very sorry we are and please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

It is hard to type through the tears. ‘

‘Believing in each other and the strength of love and respect for family and friends causes me to send an affirmation of those emotions. Shock, sadness, and the respect of the sanctity of life is important to share. Our family knows and understands the precariousness of life and the need to be open to each others needs. It's imperative we reach out to acquaintances, strangers, and loved ones with openness and respect. Consider this a hug! Love and light’

‘Let this terrorism not destroy the beauty of life and the art we create’

Yvonne Flipse. Holland

‘When faced with the darkest side of the unimaginable, one is left with seemingly few resources. So many things that mattered the day before are blown away one way or the other. A person must work hard to hang on to that part of themselves that is private and creative and unafraid. We can so easily loose ourselves within the enormous scope of history. But your spirit remaining strong and in tact is the enemies defeat. Victory must start within you, in your heart, remaining able and unafraid to love. Fear is the enemy.
