You are so right! I have received several vynil dolls that would never come clean, and kept the strong smoke odor, no matter what. To add insult to injury, some even denied it, when asked about it. I suspect they think the odor isn’t there. Thanks for fighting to keep our dolls beautiful.

I do not smoke. I do collect antique dolls. What I find not mentioned is that many antique dolls have been around smoke. Remember that pipe smoking was very fashionable around the turn of the century. Also in the 50’s as some of you may know. Even Doctor’s advised patients to smoke. So to say a doll comes from a smoke free enviroment is sometimes impossible to really prove. I don’t know much about vinyl dolls. But there are ways to remove odors from antique doll wigs and clothing. I have seen collector’s shy away from dolls that have any type of odor. Even if it smells like the odor one finds when they enter an antique store. An odor I find exciting!
