Barbie Adds Another Career To Her Resume - Celebrity Television Chef

For 2008, Barbie is having a back to basics year, with Mattel focusing the play line of Barbie dolls on several long-lasting themes. One of those themes is careers, and in fact, Barbie has had over 100 careers in her 49 years. One of her newest careers is TV Chef! The Barbie TV Chef Playset will be released in June, 2008. With a suggested retail of $14.99, the set is a good value, and includes Barbie as star of her own TV cooking show, plus a working mixer, play food, even a "magic" oven (the play toy pie goes in unbaked and comes out "baked!" I do find it a bit amusing that just being a regular, untelevised chef is a bit too boring for Barbie these days.
