The History of Talking Dolls

After writing the article about Amazing Amanda last week, I've been thinking of talking dolls all week long--their history, even the various mechanisms used to make dolls talk in a human voice. So, I've collected my thoughts and I've come up with a History of Talking Dolls from Bebe Phonographe To Amazing Amanda. Learn about early attempts to make dolls talk, from bisque antique bebes to Chatty Cathy in the 1960s and beyond! Dollmakers have long wanted to make their dolls as realistic as possible, and adding the human voice to dolls is a big part of that quest.
