Blythe Doll at FAO Schwarz

Saturday September 20, 2003
Blythe dolls are all the rage. On eBay, you can often find these big-eyed, big-headed doll from the early 1970s, selling for $1,000 and up (sometimes way up!) on eBay.

There have been modern reproductions of Blythe available from Takara in Japan for some time, but they have been hard to obtain and often expensive to obtain anywhere outside of Japan. There has also been one previous FAO Schwarz Blythe, Hollywood Blythe, but she is now out of production (and, she lacked the look and feel that many Blythe fans adore).
FAO has just announced a brand new exclusive Blythe doll which has a lovely mod feel and look. This new Blythe is the cover girl for the new FAO Schwarz Fall catalog, and she is now available for only $80 at FAO Schwarz. Just like the vintage Blythe dolls (and the Takara Japan dolls) Blythe's eyes change to 4 different colors. For information, visit FAO Schwarz
