With every collection of dolls, Annette Himstedt picks a theme and completely re-invents her line. Last year, she focused on dolls of various ethnicities and races at the Children of the World convention. This year, she lets fantasy take flight, and her dolls are attending the wedding of Prince Namor and Princess Mera in the mythical land of Atlantis.
Of course, some might say that this was all a lovely excuse to put the dolls in gorgeous and ethereal ball gowns and party dresses. And, lovely these children are, in their tulle and flowered party dresses, with long, pretty blonde and red hair. As usual, the line shows off all new face sculpts as well as dolls of various skin tones.
All of these photographs were taken at Toy Fair 2006. Each doll is limited in edition from between 377 to 713 dolls worldwide. Suggested retail varies from $642 to $883 US, with more for club dolls Mera and Namor. All dolls have hand blown glass eyes and hand knotted human hair wigs.
