Guide Review - Review of the Basic Goldilocks doll by Effanbee Dolls
Besides poseability and ball-joints, Goldilocks shares a more modern look and sensibility with today's current ball-jointed dolls than do many of the other Effanbee dolls on the market. Goldilocks has a large head in proportion to her thin body and limbs, plus set (not painted eyes). Goldilocks also has great hair and a slightly sad look (appropriate to the character...after all, those three bears were lots of trouble)
At a price of %99.95 for a basic doll with set eyes and flexible jointing, Goldilocks is well-priced (yes, I know we are all mourning the days of $49.99 basic Tonner and Effanbee dolls, but with increased costs of production and distribution in the past few years, these days are long gone). Goldilocks does not have a large wardrobe of separately available outfits, a bit of a liability for a basic doll, but there are many sources of doll clothing and I think that Basic Goldilocks will be treated much like a ball-jointed modern doll by collectors, and they will enjoy customizing her look and clothing.
