If you are a doll company, should you skip toy fair?

Toy Fair in New York

Toy Fair in New York

Pros

If you attend Toy Fair in New York, you will increase media coverage for your company and for the industry overall.

If you attend Toy Fair, you can sell your product to larger companies that don't attend the other doll-only shows, as well as to large general fine toy shops that don't attend doll-only shows.

The poor showing of dolls at Toy Fair takes dolls off the radar screens of those who decide media coverage in the United States.

Cons

Attending Toy Fair is expensive for booths and travel.

There is a major doll show on the East Coast, IDEX, not 3 weeks before Toy Fair.

It is especially difficult for smaller companies to afford Toy Fair.

New York in February--ugh!! Its way too cold, and were you there for the blizzard of '04?
