Diamond Dolls, Retailer Excellence and Golden Teddy Awards

For the first time this year, teddy bear and doll retailers have the opportunity to compete for Jones’ newly launched Retailer Excellence Awards. The awards, given in four categories: Outstanding Marketer, Outstanding Retailer Display, Outstanding Event and Outstanding Youth Focus, will be presented at an exclusive Retailer Awards Reception on Friday, August 27 from 5:00pm-7:00pm. “Industry retailers who have demonstrated exceptionally innovative marketing and promotional activities deserve as much recognition as the dolls and teddies they sell,” says Joe Jones, President of Jones Publishing, Expo’s sponsor. We are very excited about initiating this new annual awards program that will honor retailers who have succeeded in elevating consumer awareness and perception of the doll and teddy bear industries.”

Golden Teddy Awards and Diamond Doll Awards

To cap off the weekend, doll and teddy bear artists, manufacturers and enthusiasts will all be anxiously waiting to learn who will be the lucky winners of the 2004 Golden Teddy Awards and Diamond Doll Awards. Since 1987, these very coveted industry prizes—known as the “Oscars” of the doll and teddy bear industries—have been sponsored by Teddy Bear Review and DOLLS magazines to recognize artists and manufacturers of dolls, teddy bears and plush animals who exemplify the highest level of quality and imagination in their creations. The 2004 nominees, selected from hundreds of competitive entries by a panel of independent judges, were announced earlier this year at the IDEX show in Orlando and at the 100th American International Toy Fair in New York City. The official winners will be announced at a Gala Awards Banquet on Saturday, August 28.
