The Bratz are sassy and brassy--you either love them or you hate them. But more and more children and more and more doll collectors seem to love Bratz dolls with each passing year. Below you will find our favorite Bratz dolls from 2005. We've included both dolls and the wonderful Bratz doll playsets, and even a some Bratz-themed electronics.
What could be better (or easier?) for a Bratz doll than to be a Rock Star! The Bratz have their own punky-style rock group, and the dolls come complete with mini CDs where you can hear their group's songs. The dolls are dressed for rocking and come complete with details such as diamond studded navel rings and cropped leather jackets. The Bratz Rock Angelz also star in their own video game!
If you are a Bratz Rock Angel, you have to get around in style, and what better way to travel than in your own Party Plane or Tour Bus? The plane sports its own lounge and primping station, and accessories include chairs, cabinets, flat-screen TV, luggage, smoothies, and, of course, primping supplies. If that isn't fancy enough for your dolls (and your wallet, at an orginal suggested retail of $59,99, don't miss the Toys R' Us exclusive Tour Bus, which also has a hot tub and working FM radio, at $69.99 original suggested retail.
Wow...camping Bratz! A great idea, but as a country girl, I can tell you that their mini skirts, short pants and heels won't get them far in the forest in winter! However, the dolls DO come with warm looking parkas and a change of clothing including long pants. Look for the Bratz Camp Fire Tent playset sold separately--if they wear those short shorts, they are going to need the tent to keep warm! Tent comes with multiple accessories including a lantern, binoculars and even cola cans.
Hard to believe, but even the Bratz dolls start out as babies. If you like Bratz dolls, you may also like the Bratz babies. These "babies," however already dress as if they are 13 years old so, again, you might want these for older girls or collectors, and they definitely won't work if your gift recipient likes their baby dolls swaddled in blankets in a pink footie sleeper. These babies have different personalities, one in black and one in pink, but both in cutting edge outfits. Molded hair.
The Bratz Holiday Doll is a Collector's Edition, and she is lovely in her long burgundy evening dress. Great for collectors and also for little girls--especially if your little girl has been clamoring for her first Bratz, and you wanted to find one dressed in a bit more fabric than they generally are! Comes with her own Bratz ornament for your Christmas Tree (a smaller version of the doll). I also really love the Totally Hot Holiday Doll which is a JC Penney exclusive, in red.
Will those city girl Bratz ever learn to dress for the country? The Wild Wild West Bratz dolls head out to the dude ranch in their high heels and short shorts (ok, again, longer pants come in the box). As MGA says, the dolls are "goin' west and gettin' wild in dazzlin' duds that are so rip-roaring and hip-huggin', they outta be outlawed!" Dolls come with cowboy hats and other similar accoutrements, and separate playsets include a stagecoach and a horse.
Its been widely reported that both Mattel (maker of Barbie) and MGA (maker of Bratz) are turning more and more to lifestyle items to keep girls' attentions longer. Mattel launched a high-end line of Barbie clothing, and MGA ventured into higher-priced Bratz branded electronics, such as the Bratz Plugged in Portable DVD player (original suggested retail $149.99). Other hot Bratz electronics include a tv/dvd combo and a digital video recorder.
The Step Out Bratz are a basic, fashion line of Bratz dolls. Reasonably priced (suggested original retail at $14.99) they all come with a few additional pieces of clothing (including shoes, or should I say interchangeable feet with a different shoe painted on). These Bratz dolls generally do come wearing pants (Cloe doesn't even show her tummy!) and are a bit more modest than some if that is what you are looking for. Step Out Bratz are affordable fun for the holidays.
I couldn't resist adding just one more Rock Angelz item to the list. The Rock Angelz Stage is a must for all aspiring Rock Angelz stars! The stage has real working speakers which plug into your CD player or stereo, and the accessories include a microphone, stool, and guitar. A doll is also included--an exclusive Rock Angelz Roxxi. Original suggested retail on the Rock Angelz Stage was $59.99. Also available separately is the Rock Angelz Band Instrumentz Playset which includes drums and keyboard.
Rounding out our list of Bratz dolls from 2005 are the Wild West Horse and Stagecoach playset. The Wild West Bratz girls can travel in style--either on their own horse (original suggested retail $14.99, in black or white), or in fine style in their deluxe stagecoach. The stagecoach comes with a black or white horse and has working wheels, with an original suggested retail of $49.99.
