eBay Collectible Pins Frenzy at eBay Live!
One of the most popular for fun pastimes at eBay Live! was collecting the eBay collectible pins. Evidently, a new set of pins are designed for each eBay Live! and given out at the conference. The pins are free, and finding them is sort of like a treasure hunt. You had to be at particular events to get them, or on the floor of the Solutions Expo when the "pin music" was playing (I THINK it was Hawaii 5-0 music; but then again, I'm a doll expert not a music expert, so I'm not sure...).
In any event, when the pin music played, nearly everyone in the Solutions Expo Hall would scramble for the nearest eBay booth where the pins were being given out. And..they would go fast! The pins this year were a set of 10 which were commemorated each year of eBay's existence. We managed to get 7 out of 10 by being at the right place at the right time, and we managed to get the others as well for a complete set. For the pin lazy or people who were always at the wrong place at the wrong time, you could simply buy the pin set at the eBay shop.
I can't help but think that in everyone's mind, they had to be thinking "I wonder what this is worth on eBay" each time they obtained a pin!
There were also collectible trading cards, but I don't think that this were as popular as the pins.
