Janet Nabors Gets Into The Spirit of Things at eBay Live!
From the very first moments of eBay Live! it was impossible not to get swept into the spirt of things. Registering was easy, and every attendee got a bag with a complete conference guide (filled with course descriptions, event times and locations, descriptions and locations of all vendors, etc.--to plan your time well, having the instincts and abilities of a military campaign planner would have been helpful) your lanyard for your badge with your first of 10 collectible pins (Pierre Omidyar, computer, Auction Web--year 1995) and a very useful CD containing outlines of most classes given at the conference.
From registration, you sort of got swept along into a line giving out ribbons to add to your badge. The ribbons were fun...and free. The ribbons were for networking--you could use them to proudly display everything about your eBay experience. Ribbons included your feedback star, practical things such as "I accept Paypal," to silly things, such as "I Found My Way To San Jose." My husband and I picked out a few discrete ribbons--some people put so many on that their badges hung down to their knees!--and joined the group entering the Solutions Expo as it opened.
