Denise Van Patten
This rare china (or porcelain) doll is by Royal Copenhagen, circa 1840. The doll brought $13,000 at auction against an estimate of $8,000/$10,000. Early china dolls by KPM, Royal Copenhagen and others were very hot at this auction, and often sold far above estimate, with several of these dolls selling in the $15,000 to $30,000 range.
