It seems that many 3-dimensional dolls are being played with today in new 2-dimensional, digital ways. American Girl dolls are no exception, and the latest American Girl doll, Julie, now appears in her own video game, "Julie Saves the Eagles," which is available for Windows XP.

In "Julie Saves the Eagles," the latest historical American Girl, Julie Albright (introduced in Fall, 2007) is on a quest to save a family of endangered bald eagles. This fits in nicely with Julie's historical time period and place--1970s San Francisco. Julie needs to discover "key facts, people, and objects" in her video game quest to save the eagles. Ivy, Julie's best friend also appears in the video game. The game plays a bit like a mystery, with the game player having to put together evidence from research and interviews. Virtual Julie gets to travel through the virtual streets of San Francisco on her quest.

The game was created by Valuesoft, and suggested retail is $19.99 (which is just 1/5th of the price of the actual Julie doll). The game is suggested for girls 8 and up, and it is rated "E" for Everyone.
