IDATs (the Internet Doll Art Trade Show) (http://www.doll-art-show.com) and the worldwide art doll community are pleased to announce the creation of Dolls For Freedom (http://www.dollsforfreedom.com), a gateway web site which will unite the efforts of doll artists around the world in the cause of helping those that were affected by the tragic events of September 11, 2001.  Initial efforts are taking the form of a series of benefit auctions at Idats, with donations from several prominent artists such as Marilyn Radzat, Jack Johnston, and Silke Janas Schlosser. 100% of the monies raised will go directly to the recognized Internet Relief Fund of the purchaser’s choice.

In addition to the benefit auctions, a collaborative ‘Tree of Life’ project is getting started as a memorial to those we lost. While the details of this project are still being worked out, over a dozen artists have pledged their support already, with more being added daily.  More information regarding the Tree of Life Project will be posted at http://www.dollsforfreedom.com in the coming  days.
