CHARACTERISTICS OF DOLL: This doll was issued in the first Brenda Starr collection by s the new Effanbee Doll company, which is owned by the Tonner Doll Company. Reporter in Red Brenda comes in a classic 1940s fur-trimmed red business suit. She was limited to 1,000 pieces and is sold out.
The Brenda Starr dolls can share clothes perfectly with the Tyler Wentworth dolls.
PRICE: This doll still sells for retail, $124.99; no secondary market has developed.
COMMENTS: This doll quickly sold out and has been a favorite with collectors.
MARKET REPORT: This doll is beautifully done and part of the very popular Brenda Starr line. If the doll is not overproduced in the next few years, she will increase in value on the secondary market.
