DATE OF PRODUCTION: 1996
CHARACTERISTICS OF DOLL: Doll is made of vinyl, with totally poseable arms (they can be bent at any point along arm or leg; limbs are almost rubbery in feel) and twist waist. Two crimped, long ponytails. White panties and white, heavy knit stockings and yellow shoes.
PRICE: Approximately $40 from dealers and online auction houses. Not seen too frequently at online auctions.
COMMENTS: Olive is a popular friend of Jenny, Japan's anime-styled doll that is it's answer to the Barbie doll. This version of Olive is harder to find than later ones. Olive comes in a variety of hair colors and outfits. Many think this version of Olive resembles Sailor Moon.
MARKET VALUE: Although demand for Takara Jenny is much lower than the late 1990s, this character is desirable and hard to find, and has maintained its value.
