DOLLS PRICE GUIDE: Sixties and Ideal Dolls
DOLL: Tammy by Ideal
MARKS: c IDEAL TOY CORP.//BS12 on head and "c IDEAL TOY CORP.//BS-12//1" on back
DATES OF PRODUCTION: 1962 to 1965
PRICE: $24 to $40 mint no box, $75 to $90 MIB
COMMENTS: This fashion doll was produced to compete with Barbie. She was never as popular as Barbie (despite wonderful quality clothing) and was discontinued after only a few years of production. Many mothers in the 1960s preferred Tammy to Barbie because of her more--ahem--realistic proportions.
MARKET TREND: Prices for loose, average dolls have decreased in the last 5 years, but prices for MIB dolls have increases slightly.
