DATE OF ISSUE: 1967
CHARACTERISTICS OF DOLL: Vinyl, friend of Barbie; twist and turn waist, rooted eyelashes, bendable knees. Doll came with stand, booklet, swimsuit and wrist tag. Doll available in blonde or "copper penny" hair colors.
PRICE: doll alone, $150-$300 (one recent sale for super-mint doll on eBay--$350. Doll NRFB $400+.
COMMENTS: Although this doll normally comes in the green box, this box was NRFB with sticker when I purchased it, and the hair color is correctly labeled "copper penny." The dol was removed from the wrapping due to leg mold that had begun to grow on dolls legs. Use of older boxes with newer model dolls (this was the box that came with the initial, 1967 Stacey) was not unheard was not uncommon with Mattel (why waste materials?).
MARKET REPORT: The copper
penny TNT Stacey has maintained its value better than many other vintage Barbie
dolls in the past few years.
