DOLLS WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 29, 1999
NEWS
FAO TOY CATALOG AVAILABLE NOW!
The FAO Holiday Season toy catalog has been released!
Always good reading for seeing the latest toys for highly spoiled children (and
adults!) Don't miss the "Eloise Experience" inspired by the new Eloise
doll--two nights at the Plaza Hotel, a Broadway show, and a private tour of FAO Schawrtz
in NY for $5,000! Read about it from Excite Business Wire,
see the online version of the catalog at fao.com and let
us know what you think of this year's catalog in the
Forum
CHATTY CATHY DOLL COLLECTOR FROM
FLORIDA MAKES NEWS
It is rare to read a long, interesting article about doll
collectors in mainsteam media! Don't miss the St.
Petersburg Times article on Chatty Cathy collector Melissa Mince; you have GOT to see
her ROOM full of Chatty Cathys! You can also see Mince and her Chatties on Pax TVs
Treasures in Your Home in late October.
VILLAIN DOLL REMOVED FROM SHELVES
By now you have probably heard about the Villain doll, made by
21st Century Toys Inc., which was removed from Sears shelves. The doll (and I use that
term loosely) is a gun-toting 12-inch high action figure, in a ski mask and black trench
coat. Read about it in Seattle
Business--what WAS Sears and the manufacturer thinking?.
