SHAY SISTERS

submitted and made by Diane Barsottni; whtrose@sgi.net

shay.jpg (126495 bytes)I had my doll lady pour me a Wedding Day Shay. My idea was to make her a  southern bell, and so I went to Vicki'' Originals to find a pattern. I bought Designer Pattern #14, Ball Gown for Elizabeth from the movie "Raintree County." The pattern was designed for a larger doll, so I had to resize it to fit Shay. But, I bought material for the regular size doll. With this and the re-design I did for my tastes, needless to say I had extra material
left. So I decided to make a matching set. The other two doll dresses were
made from this same material.

My next effort was Shay. The dress she is wearing is her regular pattern from Doll Artworks using the longer skirt. The embroidery hoop she is
holding I had since I was eight and began sewing. The neighbor lady bought
it for me as a gift.

My final project was Baby Shay. The pattern came from Brown House Dolls. My
ribbon roses impressed my doll lady. She thought I made them. I had to tell
her I bought the roses. The stroller she sits in is from Ashton Drake.
