DOLL COLLECTOR GALLERY
TAKARA JENNY DOLL

This doll is a Takara Jenny--a Japanese fashion doll younger and less worldly
than the American Barbie. I first learned of these dolls last year when a club member
presented a program about them. She had discovered them on the Internet and made friends
with a California dealer who imports and sells them. Although I was smitten by the doll, I
never expected to own one. However, our member persuaded her dealer friend to donate one
as a raffle at our club's doll show last February. Was I surprised when I won the doll,
because I never win anything! Ethnic/international dolls are one of the focuses of my
collection, and I display Jenny proudly with my other Oriental dolls.
