PEDIGREE DOLL

submitted by Elizabeth Brushwood, Australia brushwood@fastlink.com.au

Pedigree1.jpg (17905 bytes)This doll is an English Pedigree Walker, 22" high. She was given to me for Christmas a couple of years after the dolly dresser in the other Pedigree Doll photo in the Gallery.  She was originally a bride doll - I still have her original dress that my mother made for her, along with her pants and singlet (vest) which she still wears. The skirt and blouse which she is wearing was made by my mother, originally for an OK-Kader "Danny Boy" doll which I received for another Christmas. This Christmas was very memorable for me, as we had two sisters from an orphanage come to share our Christmas with us. We each received a cane pram, a "Danny Boy" doll and four outfits for each doll, which my mother made. This Christmas stands out in my memory of one of the best I had and I have always wanted to do the same thing for an orphaned child. I hope the sisters enjoyed that Christmas as much as I did and hold special memories of it.
