EFFANBEE TINTAIR
submitted by Denise Van Patten, Chico, CA collectdolls.guide@about.com
The Effanbee Tintair is a hard plastic doll produced by
Effanbee in the early 1950s to compete with Ideal's Toni. Toni's hair could be
permed, and Tintair's hair could be colored. The doll was a Honey Doll that came in
several sizes. Many Tintair dolls do not have tagged clothing, so identification is
difficult if the dolls do not have original tags or boxes. This doll has her
original box and all-original outfit. She won a second place ribbon in the Modern
Doll Competition at the 1999 UFDC National Convention; the first-place doll had her
original coloring set (which this doll lacks).
