SHORT
UPDATE: My apology for the briefness of this new About Dolls Daily,
but I am "sandwiched" between trips to LA and San Francisco this
week (when things settle down NEXT week, there will be LOTS of new
items--an article
on the WONDERFUL new American Girl doll Kit, and also an article on Black
Widow, the new Madra doll). PLUS, surprises and dolls to share (I
hope!) from the Theriault's auction weekend in San Francisco. Hope to
meet some of you there!
DAISY
AND WILLOW LINE IN TURMOIL: It was confirmed this week that the
designers of the Somers and Field dolls, aka Willow and Daisy are parting
ways with Knickerbocker. Although Knickerbocker will continue to
produce the dolls, Doug James and Laura Meisner will no longer design the
dolls and outfits. As a collector of this doll, I express how
disappointing this news is. As I write this, I cannot access the www.knickerbocker.com
site, so it is unknown if the Knickerbocker site will issue any formal
announcement of this news. The news of Doug and Laura leaving was
passed on to me by a dealer of the dolls.
