home_chicklet1(1).gif (311 bytes)The Story of eToys:  If you have any interest in the success (or failure) of online toy retailers, don't miss this amazing 5-page article in Fortune magazine, by Erin Kelly, about eToys and how it went from being the darling of the online toy retailing world to just another dot.com in potential trouble.  From the article:  "The story of Toby Lenk and his online kids' emporium, eToys, is a distillation of the whole manic-depressive history of e-tailing. Launched in the afterglow of Amazon.com, the company went public last year in May and within five months had reached a peak market cap of $10.3 billion--2 1/2 times that of Toys "R" Us, its counterpart in the brick-and-mortar universe. So what if Toys "R" Us had 40 years' more experience and $1.6 billion more in sales?"  Don't miss the rest: The Last e-Store On The Block.

home_chicklet1(1).gif (311 bytes)The World's Largest Toy Store:  Will be the new 100,000 sq foot flagship Toys R Us currently being built in Times Square in NY.  I wonder how big the Barbie department will be?  Rumor has it that TRU will close its current large 33rd Street (near the flagship Macy's)  store when the new store opens.

home_chicklet1(1).gif (311 bytes)I'll Bid On Anything:  Don Fluckinger writes this great column if everyone that is an online auction addict!  New article every week;  I'll Bid On Anything
