FASHION
MODEL NEWS: First, the third Lingerie
Barbie doll, the one with jet BLACK hair, is shipping, and so is the Blush
fashion!! And, if you haven't ordered your silkstone Barbie dolls
and fashions for this year yet, don't delay--according to www.dollattic.com,
the line is officially sold out! According to Sandi Holder at the Doll
Attic: " Dealers will not be able to reorder, and as expected the
quantities allotted to all dealers is something no one can
predict. I hope to have some extras for those who did not get
a chance to preorder. Collectors wanted an exclusive doll, not mass
produced, very limited in quantity and one they can play with and
enjoy. Mattel is delivering just that...." I agree with
Sandi--its wonderful to have a limited yet popular Barbie doll line for
collectors again!
NEW
CHAT ROOM--NEW CHAT TIME: We have a NEW chat room--its
lots of fun and easy to use! The chat room allows for all sorts of
fun things--sounds, emoticons, and easily adjustable chat fonts!
Come help us inaugurate the room. The chat room is open 24 hours a
day, and its free! Just invite your friends in any time, or stop by
to see who's there! Don't miss our NEW Official Chat Time--Wednesday
nights at 8:00pm Pacific, which is 11pm Eastern, 10pm Central, 9pm
Mountain. http://collectdolls.about.com/mpchat.htm.
THANKS
TO FICTIONAL CHARACTERS, GLASSES ARE IN!:
"The glasses-wearing nerd is on
the way out. He has been sent packing by Harry Potter and Chuckie the
Rugrat, among others. Even Barbie has had a hand in his exile. Glasses,
one of the defining characteristics of bookworms and nebbishes, are
regularly popping up on the faces of well-known fictional characters. As a
result, children are less balky about wearing them -- they're even
becoming chic -- and that, experts say, can only benefit kids."
I couldn't resist sending you to this article--after all, even BARBIE is
getting in on the act of changing kids perceptions of glasses!
Barbie may not be WEARING glasses (yet!) but there is a new line of Barbie
eyewear (Barbie images and logos) for girls from 4 to 9 that will be
coming out this year! Get the whole story at Pioneer
Planet.
eBAY
CHANGES ITS PRIVACY POLICY: eBay has told its users that their personal data would be shared if eBay is
bought out or merges with another company. This new policy will become a reality
on May 15. eBay says that it would be necessary to continue to
provide its services. The company is quick to point out, however,
that it is not currently in merger or acquisition talks. Read about
the new policies: FAQs
about eBay policy revisions. iDOLLS
GOING OUT OF BUSINESS: iDolls, a very high profile web
site that sold dolls online (and only online) has been swept away by the
dot.com debacle, and has officially announced that it is going out of
business. There are only a few items left in their clearance sale,
and all site services are already gone. Very sad--to go to the Out
