NEW
CLIP ART!!: I just
got back from a buying trip, and wait until you see the new clip
art! Full color lithographs from "A Visit From St.
Nicholas" circa 1901 (lots of toys!) Santa in his workshop with a
Kewpie, a Golliwog and many other toys, several early 1900s paper
dolls, little girls and their doll from turn-of-the century
books and more! This clip art will thrill antique collectors and
dollmakers especially, plus anyone looking for holiday clip art. New
clip art will be up next week!
THERIAULTS
DOLL DUET AUCTION: Theriault's is holding a Doll Duet auction at
the Hyatt Rosemont in Chicago on December 9 and 10. If you haven't
been to a Doll Duet, here is an opportunity to experience this auction
format--a 2-day auction with over 500 doll lots. There is no
catalog, but there IS a detailed auction listing with condition reports
and pre-sale estimates, and there are NO phone or mail bids! This
auction format is one of my favorites, so if you are in the Chicago area,
don't miss it. Dolls usually range from modern to antique.
IN
THE PINK BARBIE RELEASED!: This Barbie doll is the most
elaborate and expensive of the Fashion Model dolls yet released. It
is also one of the most limited--only 10,000 dolls worldwide.
If you haven't ordered yours yet, and you are interested in her, don't
wait--because of the popularity of the Fashion Model dolls (silkstone viny
and a great vintage look!) she may sell out quickly.
DAWN
REPRODUCTION A BIG HIT!: This doll has been hugely popular, and
has been selling quickly. Look for MORE friends of Dawn and other
Dawn products in 2001!!
The
Santa PANIC List: Newly updated, November 30! Check out my week-by-week account of
secondary market prices on eBay and other online retailers for toys and
dolls that are popular and hard to find this holiday season. So far,
other than the Sony Playstation II, and some collector items like Madra in
Black Widow, no real crises have developed in doll and toy supplies.
BUT...its early in the season...and, prices for certain items like the
Lego Championship Soccer set ARE inching upward! The
Santa Panic List.
BARBIE
LIVE: THE WORLD'S MOST FAMOUS DOLL HAVING THE TIME OF HER LIFE:
This book has been getting quite a bit of media coverage lately,
including an article in the Los Angeles Times, and a spot on CBS This
Morning. The photos in this book look fantastic--the photographer,
Nancy Ellison, photographed Barbie in numerous "real life
situations." Find
Out All About The Book At Barnes and Noble!
EBAY
MAGAZINE: eBay
Magazine has ceased publication; no word if the magazine is being retooled
and will be re-introduced with another publisher, or if the magazine has
simply gone the way of many internet sites this year--into internet
heaven. I thought that the magazine was a wonderful resource for
heavy users of eBay and other internet auction sites, and I am sad to see
it go.
VISIT
THE CHAT ROOM!: Its
open 24 hours a day, and its free! Just invite your friends in any
time, or stop by to see who's there! http://collectdolls.about.com/mpchat.htm.
