You Know You Are A Serious Collector When....
From the doll collectors in the About.com Doll Collecting Forum

Part II
You know you're a serious doll collector when

...you look at your doll collection and secretly think that with all the money you have spent up to this point......you could have remodeled your kitchen floor to ceiling....including new appliances....but then you quickly dismiss it and pick up a doll magazine. ROMAMAY

...you continue to buy Barbies (against your husbands wishes), and smuggle them into the house after he has left for work. MINTWOLF

...you plan ALL your vacation trips around doll/antique shows, major auctions, etc. DOLLBUGGY

...you have your dolls delivered to a friends house, and sneak them in when no one is home. ERIN1112

...you've moved into a very tiny space while waiting for your new house to be built, and your dolls are all packed away in boxes, so you buy some more to ease the pain, and then have to put them in boxes because there's no room to display them. IAMANON

...you all of a sudden have 5 Gene dolls when you promised never, never to buy one. You can't buy yourself new clothes because Gene really needs them and then their are all the other dear dollies in your collection with needs, so no going out to dinner until their needs are met first! ROYALDOLL

...you keep a diary of your doll's birthdays! (their birthday is the day that you bought them) JFMDOLTON

...your significant other tells you to sell your most valuable doll. You react with utter outrage, plunge into the very deepest, deep-dyed dudgeon, refuse to speak to them for a week, and then gracefully acquiesce - and bung a mug at their head the next time they make such a horrible, mercenary suggestion. BLOTTOSTREET

...your husband can't STAND tripping over dolls in your house anymore, so he erects a separate building on your property and BANISHES all the dolls there" (true story!!). AB_COLCTDOLL

...you truly enjoy being a part of such a fun, caring, sharing doll community (About.com Forum) that you can't wait to get home from work to check in! ROMAMAY

...you beg, cajole, wheedle, whine, finagle, and otherwise annoy the managers of the toy departments every time you see a neat doll display piece that you simply MUST have for your collection. (And your husband conveniently makes himself scarce to distance himself from this embarrassment.) DOLLBUGGY

...you just about list Barbie as an exemption on your income tax, because it sure does feel like you been supporting her. MINTWOLF
