DATE OF ISSUE: 1963-1964
CHARACTERISTICS OF DOLL: Dressed Doll Ken. This is a molded hair blonde Ken. Vinyl. He is dressed in "Ken In Switzerland," outfit #776. Outfit includes ski cap, green goggles, red zippered jacket,. black stirrups, black ski boots, brown ski poles with grips and snow flakes, skis and black mittens.
PRICE: $400 at auction.
COMMENTS: Most Barbies and Kens were sold dressed in a bathing suit, with outfits sold separately, but some were sold fully dressed. These are called "Dressed Dolls" and they are relatively rare. The boxes for Dressed Dolls are different than the boxes for dolls in swimsuits. I am sorry to report that my Doll Club has nicknamed this particular dressed Ken as "Sissy Ken." I think its because of the red suspenders, or maybe its the dorky hat.
