Featured Doll Daisy and Willow
The featured doll for our first convention in San Diego will be Daisy and Willow. We will have 105 dolls of each and will distribute on a first request first serve basis. Register now and reserve the doll of your choice. We will be able to provide your choice of doll only as long as supplies last. Once all of one type of doll is reserved, the other doll will be the only one available. Please visit the toy maker that is bringing our convention doll to San Diego at www.knickerbocker.com
Charity Auction and Raffle Because of the generous nature of many doll collectors, we see this as an important occasion to raise funds to offset the costs of two charities selected by the convention coordinators. We hope to encourage designers to submit one of a kind dolls and solicit corporations/private business to provide items that we may auction off in order to benefit the AIDS Foundation and the Canine Support team. Both are non-profit organizations and do extremely good work in managing funds that are supplied to them via charity auctions.
We also envision the raffle as an opportunity for attendees to receive a "bonus" gift as our gratitude for both their attendance and their patronage of our vendors. We will be soliciting one of a kind dolls, limited edition designs and donated corporate items for this event.
One of A Kind Doll and Accessory Competition As most conventions are known to do, we shall host a design competition to showcase items created by both amateur and professional designers. All types of costuming will be accepted; i.e., movie genre, era and fantasy design and judged on by the attendees using a height requirement, i.e., 15 inch dolls etc. By separating the amateur and professional, we hope to encourage new designers to explore the possibilities of their creativity. The convention would also like to encourage those that create special accessories and open up the competitive field in their divisions such as jewelry, hat making or other items. Each attendee will have the opportunity to showcase one doll to allow a variety of designers the chance to win.
Menus Planned We will be offering a quality menu that meets any dietary need of our attendees. The chef at the Doubletree has recently joined them from the Disneyland Hotel. The convention is dedicated provide the attendees, staff and speakers with a complimentary hospitality bar that will serve water, soft drinks, iced and hot tea and coffee throughout the entire three days. We hope by doing so, this will enhance their convention experience and will be built into the budget at no extra charge to the attendees. We are in discussion with the hotel with regards to the particulars of each menu. If you have special dietary needs, please inform us ahead of time so our hotel contacts and the convention staff can ensure that you enjoy your stay with us.
Convention
Packet Information Each attendee will receive exclusive items created
for the convention. Included in this packet will be an custom doll that is
