Toys R Us Barbie Event: Toys R Us is having a "Big Barbie Event" from now until April 22. Buy $40 worth of Barbie dolls and accessories and receive a free Barbie doll with a coupon from last Sunday's paper. Also, there is a big sweepstakes with hundreds of Barbie prizes, and you can "meet" Barbie at Toys R Us on April 15. Fashion Avenues are also on sale for 3 for $10.
Millers Fashion Doll Magazine Changing Ownership: Sandi Holder of the Doll Attic has announced that Miller's Fashion Doll Magazine is being acquired by another publishing company. Stay tuned for further details.
Virginia Graves Carlson Dies: Virginia Graves Carlson, for whom the Ginny doll was named by her mother, Jennie Graves, died recently. Ms. Carlson also worked with her mother to build the Vogue Doll Company.
Slinky Inducted Into Toys Hall Of Fame: But no dolls this year (although Barbie was inducted last year). Other inductees this year include the jump rope, bicycle, jacks and Mr. Potatoe Head. Read all about it in the Oregonian.
