DOLL COSTUMERS GUILD UNVEILS NEW PUBLICATION

cost.jpg (140497 bytes)The Doll Costumers Guild has unveiled their new, quarterly journal,"The Sewing Companion."  This publication will concentrate on sewing techniques, patterns and instructions for authentic antique doll costuming.  The journal will also include information on doll display and conservation.  For more information on how to subscribe ($18 US per year) please e-mail Patricia Gosh, at patgosh@aol.com  

TOP FAO EXECUTIVE LEAVES TO HEAD UP TOYS R US
TRU has hired John Eyler, the chief executive of FAO Schwarz since 1992.  He will be president and chief executive of Toys R Us.  TRU has been plagued with problems in recent months, including toy shortages, a web site unable to handle holiday traffic, and lower than expected earnings. CABBAGE PATCH DOLLS GET THEIR OWN STAMP
This week the US Postal Service unveiled a  stamp commemorating Cabbage Patch Dolls.  The stamp is part of a set of 15 stamps representing the 1980s in the Celebrate the Century series.  Read about it in Georgia-born Dolls Get Their Own Stamps.

THE LITTLE PRINCE TOUR IS ANNOUNCED
Theriaults announces its sponsorship of "The Little Prince" tour, which shall promote doll collecting worldwide.  "The Little Prince" is a doll made by well-known doll artist R.John Wright; find out all about the tour in "The Little Prince Tour."

National UFDC Convention:  Fin Du Millenaire: Chicago, July 16-21 2000.  The National Convention; over 2000 doll collectors, amazing dolls sale room, modern and antique doll competition rooms, classes, seminars (I will be teaching a seminar and leading a Dynamic Doll Dialogue), meal events and much more!  Go to www.ufdc.org for more information.
