The end of "Pink Box" Barbie?: With this year's Barbie dolls (and friends!) sporting new logos, could this be the end of the term "pink box" Barbie? Also this year, Barbie has sported a hipper look, logo and attitude--Barbie is more technological, more career-oriented, and more of everything little girls are today. After all, Barbie has her own computer terminal, is now a Generation Girl, and there are great licensed products like the Barbie i-Zone camera (have you seen these i-Zone cameras? They are GREAT for kids--my son just got a regular one, and has been taking pictures everywhere. I will surprise my jealous daughter with a Barbie i-Zone for Christmas!) Read more about how Barbie and her friends and how they have been updated, plus about new products like the Barbie i-Zone, in Barbie Doll Marks a New Millennium. New Doll Links!: Congratulations to Dolls and Dreams (listed in Modern Barbie: Customizers), Robyns Paper Doll Page and I Love Paper Dolls (listed in Paper Dolls) and Angela's UK Barbie (Listed in Modern Barbie: Around the World) which join our family of over 1,200 linked doll sites! All sites added to the Subject libraries here at About Dolls have been reviewed before inclusion and are selected from hundreds of submitted sites each month. Keep current with About Dolls Daily to find new sites, and to find out if YOUR site has been listed! Barbie Sale!: At the Doll Gallery; includes the beautiful Arthur and Guenivere set, and also Nolan Miller (which I have, and which is gorgeous!) Visit the DOLLS FORUM for full information on the Doll Gallery Sale. Auction site shake-out?!: Auctions.com joins the list of defunct dot-coms and becomes one of the first victims in the online auctions area to close its doors, effective August 31st. The closing of this site also proves that the perfect, easiest to remember URL isn't enough anymore. Will other sites follow? If you could keep just ONE doll...Wouldn't that be a difficult decision? ROMAMAY has reprinted a delightful poem in the Dolls Forum that captures this dilemma beautifully. Doll Poem. Which doll would YOU pick--would it perhaps be that expensive, very limited modern fashion doll you just bought, an antique handed down through the years in your family, a childhood doll, or that doll you saved for YEARS to buy? Tell us in the Forum.
