home_chicklet1(1).gif (311 bytes)FLORENCE THERIAULT CHAT: Its practically here! Don't miss your chance to chat with one of the best-known experts on dolls--Florence Theriault! The Chat will be on October 24th, at 6pm pacific, which is 9pm eastern, 8pm central. Florence is a world-renowned expert on antique dolls, and the founder of Theriault's, the doll auction house. This is a rare chance to chat with Florence--the first hour of the chat will be in question and answer format, where chatters can ask questions.

Have you been to our chat room? Its open 24 hours a day, and its free! Just invite your friends in any time, or stop by to see who's there! http://collectdolls.about.com/mpchat.htm.

home_chicklet1(1).gif (311 bytes)HALLOWEEN KELLY AND FRIENDS AT TARGET: If you haven't seen these at your local Target yet, the reason is probably that the dolls are being displayed with the Halloween candy and NOT in the dolls aisle. I FINALLY found them this week--next to the candy corn (and, very few looked sold--no one obviously could find them!) The dolls are adorable, and include a Kelly and Deidre (African-American) dressed like pumpkins, a ghost, a cowboy and a space astronaut. My favorites are Kelly and Deidre in the pumpkin outfits--they retail for $6.99. the dolls are in special tube packaging with special black and orange Halloween decor.

home_chicklet1(1).gif (311 bytes)SPEAKING OF KELLY DOLLS: Don't miss the wonderful sale on Kelly and friends at Toys R Us--its a TWO for one sale, which means the dolls are only $2.50 each--the PERFECT stocking stuffers. I bought Princess Kelly, Prince Tommy, Jester Jenny and Wizard Melody for a grand total of $10 plus tax! The sale is on thru SATURDAY, so hurry! You'll need a coupon; most TRU have them in the front of the store. You can also buy one get one free on Barbie software! Finally, get a FREE Tour Guide Barbie for every $50 you spend on Barbie (while supplies last).

home_chicklet1(1).gif (311 bytes)DOLL COSTUMING MAGAZINE PREMIERE ISSUE: The FIRST issue of Doll Costuming Magazine has been published! Look for it on newsstands, or check out http://www.dollcostuming.net for more information, or to order.

home_chicklet1(1).gif (311 bytes)iDolls: TODAY, all Buyers Club members at iDolls get 30% off any doll listed on the iDolls site (this is not ALL dolls iDolls offers; just selected dolls, but there is a good selection). This week, iDolls has a number of sales including an extra 10% off 50s themed dolls.

home_chicklet1(1).gif (311 bytes)SOTHEBYS AND AMAZON.COM SPLIT WAYS: Sothebys.amazon.com is no more--from now, ALL Sothebys auctions will be on sothebys.com, including collectible items such as dolls.

home_chicklet1(1).gif (311 bytes)TOY STORY 2 RELEASED ON VIDEO: If you haven't seen this movie, rent it NOW! A doll called Jesse is a major "star" of the movie, and she has a show-stopping number about her little girl owner who loved her, but then grew up and forgot about her. And...there's an amusing trip down the Barbie aisle at a big toy store! A MUST-see for doll collectors!

home_chicklet1(1).gif (311 bytes)FASHION MODELS DISPLAY CASE: These were mentioned in the last About Dolls Daily, and they are SOLD OUT.
