Guide Review - Book Review - The Art of Buying and Selling at Flea Markets
I cannot recommend "The Art of Buying and Selling at Flea Markets" by Barry Berg highly enough. Most books that tell you how to buy and sell in the collectibles field are generally worthless--they tell you nothing but truisms that you could have figured out yourself. This book, however, gives an honest, open discussion on how to buy and sell collectibles. Mr. Berg doesn't flinch from any topic, including ethics and moral obligations, and Nazi and other offensive memorabilia. The look at "the taxonomy of value" is priceless. It also helps that Mr. Berg is an excellent writer, and one that does not shy away from discussing his personal errors in the field as illustrations (like, the tractor he didn't buy for $400 that sold for $8,000...).
