Next for Peck Aubry, in 1996, was the 1966 Color Magic and The 1967 Twist ‘n Turn Barbie paper dolls. The Color Magic Barbie doll was released 1n 1966. This doll had a unique feature--with the wave of a magic wand and special Color Magic Changers, her hair would change from Midnight color to Ruby Red color or from Golden Blonde to Scarlet Flame. The colors could be changed back and forth over and over again. Even more amazing, Mattel introduced Color Magic Fashions that also changed from one color to another.

Peck Aubry Twists and Turns

In 1967 Mattel introduced the beautiful Twist ‘n Turn Barbie doll. This lovely doll included a newly designed head and face. The sideways glance of her eyes and her bee-sting lips gave her face a look of youthful innocence. This new Barbie fashion doll debuted prepared for action with her bendable legs and twist and turn waist. The vibrant color of her makeup complimented her new mod wardrobe, with it’s colorful geometric patterns so reminiscent of the 60's. Peck Aubry created The 1967 Twist ‘n Turn Barbie paper doll in 1995 and introduced her in 1996.

In 1976 Barbie was chosen doll of the century by the federal government and sealed in the bi-centennial time capsule that is scheduled to be opened in 2076 on the nation’s tri-centennial.

Paper Doll Reminiscing While writing this article I fondly reflected upon my childhood years, when my sister and I actually played with some of these great Barbie dolls and early paper dolls, and I've also been thinking...if we only knew then....what we know now! These Peck-Gandre and Peck Aubry Barbie paper dolls are beautiful, a real treasure, and take up alot less space than the actual vintage dolls do.......but oooooh......the fun and the fun of reminiscing! Happy Dolling!
