Guide Review - Cissy Identification and Price Guide Book Review
As a collector of fashion dolls, both vintage and modern, I'm always excited when a new book hits the market. Cissy was the first modern fashion doll, and is very much deserving, finally, of a book of her own. This book is more of a homage and fascinating history than it is an identification and price guide. Prices are included, but in the back of the book with no linkage to photographs. As for identification, the book isn't really organized for that. However, the history in the book, especially regarding Cissy's place in the doll industry is well-written and engrossing. I DID think that the book included a bit too much general cultural history, but a new, younger collector not familiar with the history of the 50s and 60s might enjoy it.
