eBay Takes Hidden Bidders One Step Further...All Winning Bidders To Be Hidden

Thursday October 30, 2008
Barbie Doll Bidding Blind on eBayIn spite of controversy over the effects of hidden bidders on the health of eBay auctions, eBay has decided to extend their hidden bidder system and hide winning bidders on all auctions (only sellers will be able to see the ID of a winning bidder). I'm not a fan of hiding bidders, as I think it ruins the community aspects of bidding in collecting communties such as ours, and i think it facilitates shill bidders. Check outDoll Collectors Are Worried About eBay's New Hidden Bidder System which explains the initial changes to the bidding system. For the official eBay announcement of the change, read eBay's Announcement Board.
