Tiny Treasures Show Show Announced; UFDC 2009 National Convention Moves to Atlanta

Saturday January 26, 2008
Lennon Sisters Kathy and Janet entertain at DOTY AwardsSadly, it was announced last nigt at the DOTY Awards that the summer IDEX Las Vegas show will no longer be held. Instead, Doll Reader magazine announced that a Tiny Treasures Conference Show would be held in St. Louis from Friday, June 27 through Sunday June 29th. This show will solely focus on newborn, baby and toddler dolls. Further, the UFDC representatives at IDEX informed me that the 2009 UFDC National Convention has been moved from Washington D.C. to Atlanta, Georgia, due to hotel construction at the original convention hotel. I'll have additional information about both shows in the future.

Sure wish someone would do a reborn doll show in the western half of the US!! I live in the Seattle area and was looking forward to the IDEX in Las Vegas in 2009. Couldn’t go before now. Here I can go and they cancel all the ones on this side of the country. Not fair! There are doll lovers on this half of the states too.

I agree with the other Linda. I live in Las Vegas and there isn’t one doll show or event here in the year 2009. There are thousands of people on the western side of the US that love dolls too. Oh I misspoke…there is one doll convention this year…I think it’s the modern fashion dolls one, can’t remember the exact name. Last year they had over 3,000 people attend. I know the years that IDEX has been here, a lot more than that came to the event. Right now… Hotel prices are great through the summer.Las Vegas needs the business. WHY are there so many cancellations anyway?
