Last week's blog regarding the rumour about the demise of Kitty Collier turned out to be just that--a rumor. According to Elaine at the Tonner Dolls Help Desk, Kitty Collier has not been discontinued or retired. Even if a doll doesn't appear in a particular Tonner Dolls catalog, that doesn't mean the doll won't be in the next catalog. Actually, Kitty is in the current catalog (although only with a few styles). The rumour about Kitty started at a recent Collector's United event. Given the strong outcry from Kitty collectors upon hearing the rumor, I think they will be delighted to hear that Kitty is alive and well!

When I read your article about Tiny Kitty and Kitty being discontinued, I called the Tonner people. They reassured me that TK will be hot and strong and she is making a comeback. To me, she never left. (????) Yippee!! Tiny Kitty cannot go…ever!!
Hmmm…definitely suspicious.
Remember Cissy’s 50th anniversary last year? For 25+ of those years – from the mid-60s to the early 90s – she wasn’t produced at all.
Just because she didn’t appear in a particular catalog didn’t mean she wasn’t ever going to appear.
Yeah. Right.
