It's a Webkinz World!

Thursday February 8, 2007
Cocker Spaniel WebkinzHave you heard about Webkinz plush animals? If you haven't yet you will soon...and you'll probably hear quite a bit about them! A Beanie Babie-like craze for Webkinz is sweeping the East Coast of the United States right now. Webkinz are little stuffed animals that generally retail between $7.50 and $12.00. But, these are not just ordinary stuffed animals...these are stuffed animals with a twist! Ganz promotes them as "the stuffed animal that comes alive online in Webkinz World!" Each animal comes with a secret code that gives one year of play in Webkinz World online, where the animals can play games, build and decorate an online home (like a little virtual doll house), visit their friends' Webkinz and much more. Find out more about Webkinz in It's Teddy Bear, Version 2.0 from MSNBC and The Washington Post.

I have been buying Webkinz for my granddaughters since they came out and I have purchased some for my neices also. When you put out limited editions like the Valentine Bear and the Sherbert Bunny, I cannot find them becuase it seems the store personnel and other greedy adults keep them and put them on ebay for more than twice their price. This is totally unfair to the children that I beleive you want to be happy. I have a very unhappy granddaughter because of this.

I can’t get on to the site. When the screen comes up there is no START area at the middle bottom of the page.

Hi, Gladys! I’m just reporting on the phenomena here - try to find a store that limits the Webkinz to 1 or 2 per family (or child) per day. It is very, very hard to find Love Puppy and Sherbert Bunny. Also, let the retailers who do allow eBayers to buy all the limited editions up know how you feel.

Hi, Helen! This is a defect on some computers, including one of my own. What you can do is click on FAQs, and then there is a log in box in the upper left hand side. Hve fun; which Webkinz did you get? I really enjoy decorating my Webkinz house and dressing my Webkinz–it’s like a little paper doll and virtual dollhouse!
