IDEX Shows Sold to Doll Reader Magazine - Announcement at the DOTY Industry Choice Awards

Tonight at IDEX, Doll Reader Magazine held "A Golden Affair" to celebrate 35 years of publication and to announce the DOTY (Doll of the Year) and TOBY (Teddy Bear of the Year) Industry Choice winners. The DOTY and TOBY Industry Choice winners are voted on by doll industry professionals. The gala was well attended by collectors and industry members, with entertainment (magicians and singers), hor d’oeurves and complimentary copies of the 1st annual Collector’s Edition of Doll Reader. Before the awards, collectors were able to have the magazine signed by all their favorite doll artists (pictured).

Also before the awards, there was a surprise announcement by Doll Reader publisher Sue Fitzgerald that Sue McCart, the long-time promoter of the IDEX doll and bear shows, has sold the IDEX shows to Madavor Media, the owner of Doll Reader and Teddy Bear and Friends magazines. Sue will still be involved in the production of the shows, but purchase of the growing shows by Madavor Media will, according to Ms. Fitzgerald, “allow the shows to be taken to the next level.”
