Tammy Dolls - Dependable and Respectable, Yet Glamorous

Sunday November 12, 2006
In the early 1960s, Barbie was the "it" girl. She was the fashion doll that all the other doll and toy companies wanted to emulate. Tammy was Ideal Toy Corp's answer to Barbie. She was preferred by many mothers who thought that Barbie was inappropriate for children because of her extreme physical measurements, makeup, and adult look ad feel. Tammy, in contrast, had tamer, teenage-style measurements and s sweet, apple-pie look. Tammy also had beautifully made clothing with her own touch of glamour. Find out more about Tammy in our Tammy Dolls Profile.
