Lee Middleton Sculpted Dolls At New Company

Thursday June 1, 2006
The doll collecting industry can be a confusing place. For an example, take the situation with Lee Middleton Dolls. A new doll collector would likely try to find dolls sculpted by doll legend Lee Middleton at the Lee Middleton Doll Company. But, that would be futile, because dolls sculpted by Lee Middleton now are sold by The Doll Maker and Friends.

Lee Middleton revolutionized the doll industry with her baby doll sculpts. She formed the Lee Middleton Doll Company which sold her beautiful dolls for many years, but then sadly died in 1997. Her company continued to sell dolls sculpted by Lee after her death, but also added dolls sculpted by others, including Reva Schick. Evidently, the company only had the rights to sell the dolls sculpted by Lee herself for a short period of time after her death, because her family has chosen to give the rights to a different company. [p] So now if a new collector tried to buy a doll created by Lee Middleton through Lee Middleton Dolls, they would be unsuccessful. The company that now has jthe rights to Lee's sculpts, as mentioned, is The Doll Maker And Friends. This company also sells the dolls of Linda Rick, Beverly Stoehr and other artists Their line of Lee Middleton Dolls is called Lee Middleton Moments.
