Its that time of year! Doll companies are starting to offer sneek peeks of their dolls that will be debuting at IDEX and Toy Fair. Just minutes ago, I was offered a sneak peek at some of the new 2006 Marie Osmond Dolls. Its Marie's 15th year in the doll industry, and she is celebrating by offering some fantastic new dolls. For the first time, Marie is offering a true "adult bodied" fashion doll, an updating of the Candy Fashion doll of the 1960s!

Candy fashion dolls were originally produced in 1962. The dolls were sold in supermarkets and drug stores around the country. The doll was sold in a gift set containing four additional outfits. Charisma dolls, Marie Osmond's company, is re-creating this doll for 2006, including the gfit set with the four outfits, mannequin stands for the outfits, a replica box and the Candy doll.

The preview of the dolls I have seen looks even nicer than the original, and Charisma promises that they have "faithfully reproduced [the dol] using finer quality materials for generations of enjoyment and stylish fun. The four original outfits that are included are “Sophisticate,” “Autumn Days,” “Spring” and “Capri.”
