American Girl's Move Upsets Some Chicago Residents

The latest American Girl doll, Marisol Luna, a "Mexican-American from Pilsen" moves from Pilsen to suburban Des Plaines. In the book, Marisol's mother tells her that Pilsen [was] "no place for me to grow up. It was dangerous, and there was no place for me to play.''
