Barbie 2005 Dolls Announced

Tuesday September 28, 2004
Its hard to believe that some companies are already announcing dolls in their 2005 lines! Personally, I think its a bit early for this, but in some way its fun to start thinking ahead to new doll designs for next year. For a preview of the 2005 Barbie line, visit the Barbie Collector Showcase presented to you by Barbie Collector.

My favorite dolls include the Juicy Couture, Cynthia Rowley, and the Chocolate Obsession, but my number one favorite so far in the 2005 Barbie line is the Princess of the Renaissance doll. Although its only a "pink label" doll the costume is beautiful. I'm fairly well obsessed with Florence and with the art of the Renaissance, which explains why I especially like this doll (I wish Mattel did more historical costuming in their high-end dolls). One problem, however, with the description of this doll--the doll is described by Mattel as having an outfit from "the 14th Century." The 14th Century is in the 1300s, and this is NOT the Renaissance, it is the Middle Ages. I think the costume is from the late 1400s, which is early Renaissance.

Pickiness aside--I love the new line! Which are your favorites?
