Bob Solomon, CEO of Applause, Dies at Age 50
Monday August 23, 2004
I have very sad news to report. Bob Solomon, CEO of plush and Raggedy Ann and Andy toy maker Applause, Inc. was found dead in his home this weekend. He was only 50. I've had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Solomon in the past, and a more dedicated toy maker you could not meet.
He had a true enthusiasm for his products, and a true respect for toy retailers. His line of Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls have delighted many little girls as well as collectors. He was also responsible for the new retro Dream Pets line, which was announced at Toy Fair this year. He will be truly missed.
