Dolls, Dolls, Dolls...

Tuesday August 3, 2004
My first "official" day at the UFDC convention was a whirlwind of dolls, dolls and more dolls! This morning, I attended the Kathe Kruse, Kamkins, Patti Playpal and Bleuette Dynamic Doll Dialogues. I then visited the national headquarters of the UFDC (United Federation of Doll Clubs, the organization that hosts and runs the doll convention). The headquarters was an amazing place which included a lovely doll museum.

In the afternoon, I was lucky to get an extra seat in a 3 hour seminar which focused on dressing Mignonettes (tiny French all-bisque dolls). After that, I had 1 1/2 hours before the official opening ceremonies for the doll convention, so I figured I could either blog here or nap....hmm, sorry, I decided to nap because I was exhausted!

Opening ceremonies included a delightful presentation on play time (the theme of the convention) and then it was time for the grand opening of the offical UFDC sales room with over 100 doll dealers. I shopped till I dropped for 3 hours, then finally had a very late dinner. I'm now imparting all this to you before I drop in bed, again, exhausted (but in a happy doll-induced stupor).

Tomorrow promises to be a little calmer (well...a little). See you then!
